Eligibilitycriteriafor JEE Mains 2016:

Age limitations: Candidates date of birth must be on or after 1st October 1991, but 5 years age relaxation is applied for SC ST and PWD students.  You should keep in mind that date of birth mentioned in the Board examination admit will be considered while calculating the age.

Number of chances: candidates can make maximum three attempts to sit for the JEE main exam.

Year of appearance in the exam: All the candidates must appeared in qualifying exam in 5 different subjects in the year 2014 or 2015.

JEE Main result system:

JEE Main Result is declared in two different stages ie, Score obtained in Paper 1 which was declared on 27th April, 2016 for this year’s candidates and the second stage is All India Rank which will be declared on 30th June 2016.

JEE Mains Counselling System:

Central board of secondary education and Central Seat Allocation Board combined do the counselling for the JEE mains. JEE Mains exam is conducted by Central Board ofSecondary Education every year and declare a merit list, the rest work is done by the CSAB board who allocate the seats based on the merit list published by CBSE. Earlier this process was conducted via Central counselling board or CCB which later changed as CSAB.

Future of JEE mains:

Candidates who successfully pass the JEE mains exam will get direct admission to the top Engineering colleges of India based on their rankings obtained. In case of pattern of the exam, in 2015 it has been decided that form2017 onwards anew test willbe conducted named as Science aptitude in the first phase and another objective paper to decide ranks of the candidates.
